Sirs,
In your letter of January 19, 1968 you requested a permit for the
exhibition
in original version of the American feature-length film titled:
HOLLYWOOD U.S.A
(MONDO HOLLYWOOD)
I have the honor of informing you that the Commission of Control of
motion
picture films, after having examined this production on January 23rd in
sub-commission and on March 12th in plenary session, has decided
unfavorably
concerning its exhibition.
"This
film, in the opinion of certain experts of the Commission, presents an
apology for a certain number of perversities, including drugs and
homosexuality,
and constitutes a danger to the mental health of the public by its
visual
aggressivity and the psychology of its editing. The
Commission
proposes, therefore, its total interdiction."
As a result of this notification I have decided to totally forbid the
exhibition
of said film.
Please accept, dear Sirs, this expression of my distinguished
sentiments.
The Minister of Information
(Signature)
Georges GORSE
