Americans prepare to board trucks for the Festival Opening Day Parade.  The banner they carry originally read: "USA Delegates Salute VIth World Festival,"
but a small group of self-styled "anti-communists" among the 180 Americans who'd come to Moscow refused to carry it because they said that they were neither
"delegates" nor  ready to "salute" a communist-sponsored event, a torn bedsheet and shoe polish was used to change it to "USA Participants Salute World Youth."
